Antreas Liverdos, son of Kyriakos and Aggeliki Shiakalli from Klepini. He was an enlisted sergeant serving at the 236 Infantry Battalion. He was single and was going to study medicine at the Medical School of the University of Athens. He was born in Klepini on September 9th 1945 and he was murdered by the Turks at the army posts located at the Lefka enclave on March 15th 1965. The city honoured him by naming the street on which the Primary School and the Greek Gymnasium of Kyrenia are located after him. Moreover, the army camp where the 33rd Commando Squadron was stationed, in the area of Bellapais, was also named after him.
