The Kyrenia Municipality’s Magazine is a publication of the people of Kyrenia informing about the events held by refugees in the current year, as well as a publication which includes narrations about Kyrenia and its people, its Culture and Traditions. This year, the magazine will be published only once, before the end of 2017. What is noteworthy is that this publication serves not only as a means of informing people, but also as a way to strengthen the bonds between the people of Kyrenia, to retain and cultivate Remembrance for our occupied areas and to strengthen people’s will to Fight for their Return!
Therefore, the publication includes pages informing about the events held by the Municipality and the activities of our Youth, in addition to References to the Heroes and Martyrs of 1974, narrations by the people of Kyrenia and other interesting cooperations.
It goes without saying that the Committee can expand with new members accordingly!
Citizens’ Register Update Committee
Chairperson: Savvas (Akis) Schizas
The Kyrenia Municipality considers it necessary to be kept up to date and know about all, without exceptions, people of Kyrenia who were Citizens of Kyrenia before July 20th 1974, as well as everybody who was born and raised in Kyrenia but lived elsewhere during that particular period of time. For this reason, the Municipality is planning on conducting a census to record the Citizens of Kyrenia and this is expected to begin within 2017.
The census with be conducted by filling in the relevant questionnaires which have been prepared by the Kyrenia Municipality. The questionnaires will be filled in by the Citizens themselves, who will be contacted by the interviewers either face to face, by phone or by post.
