At the age of 21, he was a reservist of the 251 Infantry Battalion and he was married to Dora. Along with his wife, he was trapped in their house in Pano Kyrenia after the war started. On August 2<sup>nd<\/sup> he was arrested by the Turkish army along with his brother Andreas and his brother-in-law Emilios Miltiades.
